The Ward family were from the Horncastle area of Lincolnshire, England. My grandfather William Ward was born in Woodhall Spa and came to New Zealand as a 3-year-old in 1914 with his parents Frederick Ward and Lillian SCOTT and sisters Betsey and Maud. They settled in Taranaki.

My great-great grandfather Robert Lowe BREWSTER (1853-1942) was born in Preston, Lancashire and immigrated to New Zealand in 1879. He settled in Blenheim and worked as a draper.

The HOWARD Family
James HOWARD (1831-1914) was born in Middlesex and came to New Zealand in 1855, settling in the Blenheim area, working as a carpenter. He married Frances READ (1841-1907) in 1858 in Blenheim. Frances was born in Lincoln, England and came to New Zealand with her father Richard Read (1811-1866) and mother Mary BROWN (1813-1896) in 1855, via Melbourne. They settled in Blenheim.
